Bristol Museum and Related Projects October 2001- Jan. 2002 Madge Dresser acted as consultant to Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery in connection with their Heritage Lottery Fund bid for the Museum of Bristol. April 2002 - August 2003 Madge Dresser led the production of a website town trail for school children on 'Bristol and Slavery' which has been funded by a £4,000 grant from the Victoria County History Project at the Institute of Historical Research at the University of London. The production team consisted of Madge Dresser, two colleagues in UWE's Education Faculty, Dr. Penelope Harnett and Dean Smart as well as technical staff from the VCH Project. April 2002 Madge Dresser contributed to the UNESCO-funded web-site for the Anti-Slavery Society on the History of the Slave Trade with a page on the identity and ideology of the early participants in the British slave trade.October 2002 - Jan. 2003 Madge Dresser was appointed by Bristol City Council as historical consultant for their website on 'Bristol and Transatlantic Slavery' 2007 to present Madge Dresser has been co-opted by the Bristol Museums, Galleries and Archive Service to serve as historical advisor for the £23m. Shed project which will result in a new museum about the city of Bristol due to open this year. She also was co-opted to head the academic advisory group and working party attached to the project.
